Luna is a fantastic gal. She is approximately 4-5 years old. She is a brindle boxer mix with docked tail and natural ears.Luna’s original owners were unable to care for her properly therefore had chosen to have her rehomed which they felt was in Luna’s best interest. She is potty trained, current on vaccines and spayed. She will pull a little on the leash if she sees something but then immediately stops with correction to continue her walk. After the initial “sniff” at the beginning of a walk, Luna will walk like a “woman on a mission.” She absolutely loves her walks therefore would be perfect for a home that walks/hikes. Luna’s foster home consists of two children, 3 cats, and one other dog. Luna is fine with all in her home. She adores people and attention which are two traits necessary for the perfect Companion pet! . When Luna meets a new dog, it does take her a couple of weeks to become comfortable with that canine….just like her human counterparts, don’t you agree? She has become friends not only with the resident dog, but also the dog that her foster home dog sits that spends the night. Luna is not particularly fond of small dogs. Luna has been in foster for awhile now and has learned commands and leash walking. she is a terrific girl so it is difficult for us to understand why her fur’ever home has not yet stepped up. If you are that home and would like to meet Luna, please complete an Adoption Application found under the adoption tab at the top of this page. Luna is no longer a ‘Diamond in the Ruff”. She is the actual Diamond~ For more about Luna, read below!
1/10/2017 update~~Luna continues to love people and children. She has also added a laser light to her list of likes. Though Luna is being fostered with another dog at this time, it had taken several weeks for her & the resident dog to get along. keeping this in mind, we feel Luna would be very happy in a home with children, parents, cats….another dog would not be necessary. She absolutely doesn’t appreciate small dogs, however she is perfectly fine with cats. Luna has a docked tail and natural ears. She enjoys giving kisses, getting baths and just “hanging out” with humans. 10-22: Luna is a very loving dog and absolutely loves her people.
Look at this adorable face! She is fine with cats, she will sniff them and chase if they run but for the most part she just leaves them alone. Typical of the boxer breed she wants to be by her people all the time. Of you are sitting on the couch she will try to slowly crawl up on your lap. She is
not really a lap dog but she obviously didn’t get
that memo. She will talk back to you when she cannot get close enough to you. Although she is good with her 2 yr old foster fur brother, she is very iffy with other dogs. It takes her awhile to get use to other dogs and is very dog reactive. If a dog barks at her she lunges and barks right back. Any intro to a new dog has to be done slowly over time….it took 4 weeks of living with my dog before I could leave them out together. Because of this I would say she would do best being the only dog…not that she can’t be around other dogs, it just takes time. She does walk on a leash but she can pull something awful when she sees a squirrel or another dog…and she is strong!!! Overall she is fine but definitely could use a little training on meeting other dogs and walking on a leash. Please don’t over look this girl as she needs a home of her own and is the perfect companion. Please meet Luna. Luna is a 4-5 year old boxer girl. Luna’s people had fallen on hard times and were unable to care for her. Luna does not need another dog for company. In fact when another dog is present, she will ignore it and walk on by, now and then barking as she passes. From this behavior we feel Luna doesn’t need another dog to keep her company. Luna is absolutely, a “people dog.” She has yet to meet a person she doesn’t like! She would be a wonderful companion for someone. Luna is a bit overweight, standing to lose a few pounds. it seems she also has springs in her feet as she loves to jump on you to give you kiss after kiss after kiss.. This is a habit that her foster home is in the process of breaking.
