Mr. Magoo’s Story: Mr. Magoo was found wandering the streets. He was picked up by animal control and taken to the shelter. Magoo may have been hit/side swiped by a car, bike or something similar as he has sustained some injuries. When taken to the vet, Magoo has a fractured pelvis which the vet states is healing nicely on it’s own and he also has a broken femur. According to the vet, the femur is approximately a 4-5 month old untreated injury. Because this injuty was not treated in a timely fashion, the bottom portion of the femur shifted and fused to the top portion of the femur along the side. He has seen 3 vets one of which is an orthopedic specialist. The same conclusion was reached by the three vet practices; Because Magoo is in no pain, leave the leg alone. There is no vascular or nerve damage to this leg, therefore amputation is not required. Because the two portions of femur fused together along this sides, this leg is approximately 3 inches shorter than the others. Does this little challenge slow Magoo down? Not in the least! He loves to play with other dogs. He is a great boy with a great temperament. He is potty trained and walks relatively well on leash. If you think you are the right home for this happy boy and have a resident pet needing a nice happy playmate, please complete an Adoption Application found under the adoption tab at the top of this page. If you are already approved, simply email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, approval status and that you would like to meet Mr. Magoo and we will schedule a meet and greet for as soon as possible.
