Please meet Raisin. Raisin is a Senior, purebred Boxer. She is approximately 9 years old and is extremely petite. Raisin’s story is a quite sad. She had lived with her people since a pup, but when her Mom went off to college, Raisin’s grandma took her off to the shelter! Raisin was not doing well at all in the shelter and Fassa’s Friedns was contacted for help. We couldn’t turn our back on this little lady who had given her very best years to the same family, only to be dumped in her senior years when she needed her peeps the most!
Raisin recently had a polyp removed from her intestines and the biopsy reveals it is not cancerous. Raisin is a total love bug and would do best in a home where someone is home all day. She would also do best with a male dog with which to snuggle when her people are not home. Raisin would do best in a home with no young children. She is on a special diet dog food at the moment. A home with small children possibly dropping cookies or crackers, etc. would not at all be beneficial for Raisin. She is current on vaccines and is spayed. She walks fairly well on leash. Raisin also has her moments when she enjoys a quick lap or two around a fenced in area, and then she is ready for a nap.
Many times people are not interested in rescuing such a senior as Raisin. When rescuing a dog, it is not about how long they are with us, it is about giving them the very best home we can for as long as they are with us, and folks….there is not a more rewarding feeling than knowing you had given that Senior the very best she has probably ever had, If you are a retired Senior in search of a Retired Senior, this little girl is for you. Please complete an Adoption Application found at the top of this page under the Adoption Tab. Let’s give this little lady the home she deserves. If you are pre-approved, simply email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and letting us know you have already been approved and we’ll set up a meet and greet as soon as possible. Let’s all work together to get Raisin settled in a new home once and for all. Please share with family and friends!
