We’d like to introduce you to Barkley! Barkley is a male boxer-mix approximately 5-6 mos. old! Barkley was someone’s “Christmas Return.” He was given as a gift to a family that “returned” him to the shelter because he wasn’t wanted.
Please note; This is why Fassa’s Friends Does Not Adopt to Homes That Want To Give A Dog Or Puppy As A Gift… Poor Little Guy! He spent two weeks in a shelter before one of our Rescue Partners rescued him and asked if we had room for him in Fassa’s Friends. He was fostered by Rebecca, a vet tech in NC until we were able to set up transport. The middle of January, 4 days before he was to be transported he broke with Parvo. He arrived in NJ 9 weeks later, a healthy boy. Quick thinking and rigorous treatment by Rebecca literally saved this little guy’s life! Paws up to Rebecca!
Barkley is a fabulous little one!
At this time he weighs 38 lbs. He is so cute with a streak of wavy fur running along his spine. Who’s your Daddy, Bark? Before you ask, we have no idea. He has a docked tail. For all he has been through at such a young age, Barkley is a happy, playful little fella. He is current on vaccines and has been de-wormed. He is potty trained, not having one accident in his crate or in the house since he’s been with his foster. He is also fabulous in a crate, no whimpering or whining. He is learning how to sit, and loves to play with other dogs. A ball seems to be his most favorite toy as he likes chasing one and batting it around the house, inside and out. Barkley has normal puppy habits; puppy nipping and chewing. His foster home has been working with him to correct these two undesirable puppy habits. He is very smart and is beginning to understand chewing and puppy nipping are No-No’s.
