The “New Dawn” Boxers Update

Update 10-23:  Fassa’s first “New Dawn” Boxer-mix Friend, Sasha has just arrived from South Carolina.  Pictured above….isn’t she a beauty? Don’t let that white muzzle fool you. Our rescue has many friends and supporters throughout the country.  One such friend is Dawn Hicks in Georgia.  Dawn works tirelessly to rescue shelter dogs in the south within hours of them scheduled to be euthanized.  A legalized form of euthanasia in Georgia, and some other states,  is the gas chamber….. Fassa’s Friends couldn’t turn a blind eye to requests for help from such an animal advocate and we have partnered with Dawn to help boxers and boxer mixes in such dire need of rescuing. Dawn can only take a dog from a shelter after a rescue has committed to taking that dog.

Working in conjunction with Dawn, Fassa’s Friends has allotted a “New Dawn slot.”  This slot enables a boxer or boxer mix from the south to be transported and rescued by us here in the North. We will rescue one of Dawns boxers from the south to fill this slot and will keep helping Dawn get a dog out of a gassing shelter each time our “New Dawn” slot is opened.  Rescuing dogs that are only hours away from euthanasia is just one of the many purposes of rescue and is actually rescue at it’s finest. A New Dawn Boxer or Boxer mix will be provided with all of the services provided to all Fassa’s Friends Rescues, with one additional cost, transportation. All costs (including the transport) as for all of our boxers, will be incurred by Fassa’s Friends Boxer Rescue.  Once a New Dawn Boxer is adopted, the slot will remain open for us to  take in another dog in desperate need in Dawn’s area.  Please consider helping Fassa’s Friends from the south find their “New Dawn” here in the North.
